Parts prices
Got my new IPD catalog today - I was looking at $35 for TR ends and $48 for ball joints (maybe I have that backwards) at Autozone - but IPD is having a 40% off sale - They are like $25 and $32. Guess my spring project will be bought early....

Ball joints are cake. Buy the assembly already together.
After you get the rotor off and the caliper tied up. There are the 2 larger bolts towards the motor that are cake. You take the nuts off, but leave the bolts in until after the outer bolt is removed.
The outer bolt is the tough one (usually pretty sticky). once you get the nut loosened, you try to tap out the bolt with a punch or something..be very carefull not to bugger up the end so bad you cannot get it out.
Next you should be able to take a hammer and smack the ball joint from back to front, this will pop it off or off enough you can then remove the back bolts and it will drop out.

My 94 850 has ball joints separate from the A-arm - just three bolts hold the 3" joint to the A-arm. No rotor/caliper messing necessary. Just get the wheel off and unbolt. Very simple. I think the 850 changed in 96 or 97, not sure about the other models.
