1999 Volvo V70 XC "Dirt bike" like sounds in cabin

Post by Prev.Happy.Volvo.Owner »

I have a 1999 Volvo V70 XC, I get a re-occuring sound in the cabin when the climate control is on. It does not matter whether the heat is on or the air conditioning, the sounds goes away when the car is not moving. The only way that I can explain the sound is it is like having a "dirt bike" go through the gears. I found that if I leave the climate control off I do not get the sound. I took the car to the dealer and they "fixed" it, telling me that there are some motors that control air intake that needed to be re-calibrated. Of course that did not fix the problem....looking for help.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking that if there were somthing in the fan or a bearing was going on the fan the sound would continue when the car isn't moving. The sound stops when the car stops.
