I have a 1989 240DL, non turbo. When the I drive it for about 20 minutes and the engine is warm the car stalls. I found that after lifting the hood and waiting about 5 minutes the engine fires up again, only to stall about 15 to 20 ninutes later and I go through the process again.
Any idea on what may be the problem?
ENGINE STALLS Topic is solved
I had the exact same problem with my '84 245 DL. The problem was in the ignition control module in the engine compartment. When it got hot from the engine heat, it would cut out. Opening the hood and letting it cool enabled me to restart, but then it would cut out again once it reheated.
Your Volvo is 5 years newer, and I'm sure there were changes in the intervening time, so just consider this as a starting point.
Hope this helps you.
