S70 - Bad floor vibrations in cold

Post by Mark345 »

I have a 2000 S70 and have had some really bad vibrations in the floor and steering wheel while accelerating. It only does it when the car is cold, and slowly subsides as the car is warming up. Every single motor mount has been replaced on this car - so what else could it be? Strut housings? Lower control arm rubber bushings? I have no idea where to begin.

Weird that it goes away. I want to say wheel imbalance...

What about a spark plug wire that doesn't make good contact until the engine is warm? A nonfunctioning cylinder would certainly cause a whole lot of shaking. How's the power when it's cold?

Replace the plugs after you crank it when cold and let it run for about 5 minutes. If it were a fouling plug it would be evident which one it was. If new plugs didn't fix it I would then replace the wire to that cylinder, then the cap...

Good luck
