S40 has hesitation Topic is solved

My first post:
Hello all,
My wife's '03 S-40 has developed a hesitation under hard acceleration. It started around 25k miles and has 33k now. I have an appointment Monday for a checkup @ Volvo.
It is stock except for a K&N air filter that was put on @ 21k. I've tried putting the stock filter back on and it still has the same miss.
Is this common? Should I leave the K&N on it when I take it to the dealer?

Had such a problem with my S40 T4 when accelerating hard in 4th gear. Then it spread to all gears except first. The computer said nothing was wrong. The spark plugs were changed and the problem went away.

That's what I was going to suggest. Plus some fuel injector cleaner in the gas on your next fill up or two.

The dealer told me new spark plugs would fix the problem of hesitation/missing under hard exceleration. Amazingly the dealer was right!! It actually did fix the problem
