How 2 fix? Illumination out behind dash(passenger side) temp dial & 3-button blower control S80 1999
I have the cursed '99 S80 T6 with 106K miles that I love. It behooves me that it is a money pit.... A small problem I face is that the night illumination is out only behind the passenger side's temp control dial & 3-button blower control (looks like human figure). (Dealer says that it is not worth fixing because of the labor involved...) Have any of you experienced this? Any advice? Thanks!!

A separate story: After taking my s80 t6 to the dealer & having turbo seals replaced for $2K +, it turns out the story is not over....
I subsequently had the brake pads replaced at a different high-end repair place and they noticed an oil drip residue ('til then I had not mentioned the turbo sealer repair). This second place, wiped it off and checked it a couple of weeks later; diagnosis of the second place was that the turbos still seem to be leaking and I was advised (in the note they wrote for me)to take the car back to the Volvo dealer.

I took the car back to the Volvo dealer and in one day they re-inspected turbo-seals for free (and provided a loaner car). Unfortunately, the dealer's opinion was that the turbo seals are fine but that the power steering seals are gradually going bad, According to the dealer, the only real answer would be to replace the entire doggone power steering for $4K+!! I don't have that kind of money now and, for now, the car is driving fine except for the wet bottom. Rather than spend an exorbitant amount of money to replace the power steering, I am going to watch the fluid levels and say a prayer. Meanwhile, I will check with that second repair place and (maybe) Volvo Central to get their vibes on the scenario... Any ideas?

Hi, it is 200 bucks at a wreck for the power steering piece, it is really easy to replace yourself.
