Stranded. Any Sugestions

Post by stuck »

Greetings all. I have a 94 850 trubo that has been sitting outside for the last three days in Colorado above 9000 feet. I went out to start it after the second day, and after six or seven cranks, it turned over and began to idle for a few minutes. Radio came on, seat belt chimes went off. Seemed cool to me. I looked down at the dash and noticed that EVERY indicator light was lit. Radiator,ABS,service engine, check engine, everything. That fraked me out a little and stupid me, turned the car off. I had never done that before. :? Went to go start it again, and no dice. Nothing. Dash lights were still lit but it just wouldnt trun over. Shi*
When it popped the hood, I just about filled my pants. The entire engine bay was covered in snow. Like I had left the hood open for those three days. The wind actually deposited drifted snow all over everything.
Frozen fuel line? Frozen something else? I know it could be a bunch of things but was wondering if anyone had any insight. I'm up pretty good in the mountains and can't wait to get it towed. I'm using dial up to type this. Thanks

First, get rid of the snow. Don't try to melt it off, just brush it off.

Get the snow away from all the critical electical components and check to be sure that there is no snow in the air intake.

If the snow on top of the engine melts, water will get under the spark plug cover and run down into the spark plug galleys in the cylinder head. This water will then short out the spark plugs and you will be unable to start the car until you get all the water out from around the plugs.

Good Luck
