Mass Air Meter

Post by elerner1 »

I own a 1986 245 with B230 and LH 2.2 injection. I have been told I need a mass air meter. Car runs well after I replaced Oxygen sensor. What will mass air meter do for me? I bought one on ebay but it was broken. I'm now shy of buying another used one. Any suggestions. My meter is a Bosch 0280212007. :?:

What problem do you have now that they said you need it?

As a mechanic I get extreamly frustrated by others in my profession who take the lazy route of "changing out parts until the problem is found, who cares how much the customer has to pay" If the car is running well I question why you would be told to replace the MAS. These do fail occationally but usually they work or don't work, when they totally fail the car will go into limp mode, run very poorly and have low power and drivability.

That is what I thought, thanks for the advice. I wish i had a pair of rear tires to give you as thanks. You must really smoke em with those 4 extra cylinders. Ed :D
