help changing head gasket
my 95 850 n/a has been overheating and leaking coolant. I took it to the shop and they said the resevoir had a leak charged me 150 bucks and put in a new one. on the way home temp gauge jumps a little and after highway driving temp rises a lot and fluid leaves the resevoir as a mist from around the cap. took the car back to the shop and after about an hour the mechanic brings the dip stick to me showing me that there is a small amount of liquid at the bottom of the dip stick. he then explains that I most likely have a cracked head gasket and coolant is entering the combustion chamber and oil lines causing the pressure to raise thus causing the coolant to bleed out of the resevoir and raise engine temp.cost fix 1400.00 bucks. does this sound like a good explanation as to the problem? also I don't have that kind of money to spend on the head gasket. I am saving money to put towards a turbo motor to link to my manual tranny. is it feasible for me to swap the head gasket myself and get by until I have the money for the engine swap. also can someone give me some quality directions?thanks

A turbo engine will have a different ECU.callmenasty wrote: I am saving money to put towards a turbo motor to link to my manual tranny.
