740 Intertiment Starting Problem Topic is solved
I just bought an 87 740t and the previous owner had the same concern. He switched to high test fuel and the problem went away. I on the other hand am CHEEP and bought regular gas and now I have a no start after a 10 min. or less hot soak. The turbo has been removed so heat from that is not the cause.
Good luck.

The problem you are haveing sound like the one I had. At the end of all the testing I found that the sensor below the intake manifold between #3 and 4 was bad. That sensor tells the the computer it the car what temp. the engine is. and adjusts the fuel/air mix accordingly. I also found that the ecm under the r/side kick panel had some dammaged pins that were easy to clean. Hope this helps.
