S70 Service Light

Post by MarquemVolvo »

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of my service light on the dash of my S70 without taking it to a dealer. I've tried the method of holding the mileometer button in after turning the ignition off and then turning on and holding for at least ten seconds, till the service light flashes, but this makes no difference. Am I doing this wrong or is there another method. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

You are doing it wrong. You only turn the ignition to the second setting--not all the way on while hitting the trip reset button.

Mathew, I have access to an OBDII tool and still do not know how to reset the service ligth on my 1998 V70. When I run the scan it does return as "no codes found" Any suggestions?

Not all tools extinguish the service light. I'd check the tool's documentation to find out.
