Transmission selector on 2001 V70 is jammed in park

Post by Jammed »

I just parked my 2001 V70 in a parking lot and when I came out, the selector for the transmission is jammed in park, and will not move. and I can not start the car. Any ideas on what is stuck, and if it can be moved. Tried rocking the car, but no movement of the selector.

Sorry,

The car does not start, finally read manual to put in key position II and hit Brake to release the selector. However the car does not start.

Do you have a shiftlock override button? I'm not familiar with 2001s.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
