Alarm dash board indicator...99 S70

Hello everybody...I have a question concerning my 99 s70. Each time I lock the doors with the remote, the hazards flash which I READ IS NORMAL, indicating that the alarm is activated. Now, I have seen several of these S70s models with the little red light in the center of the dash board flashing and was told that is for the alarm indicating that, it is armed. I have only owned my S70 for less than a year and had to fix minor things here and there. Can anyone tell me what to do to remedy this situation because I think if the alarm is on (armed) this little red light is supposed to flash periodically, right?

Do your direction signals flash when you set the alarm? If not you might have a door or trunk not closed

Yes they do flash each time I lock with the remote. I thought that if the alarm is armed, the little red light is supposed to come on and off (flash) meaning that the whole vehicle is secure. I thought that maybe there's some kind of replacement bulb or something of that sort. Mine jsu does not come on at all. Any suggetsions, ideas, solutions??

I have the same question about the LED light for the alarm. My lights (incl. turn signals) blink, horn doesn't make a sound, and of course the LED light doesn't blink. Does this mean that it was an optional feature on my car that didn't make it, or what? Also, my remote doesn't have a panic button, just lock, unlock, and trunk release. Is this a clue that maybe my car doesn't have a security system installed or hooked up?
