Door will not open

I have a 1990 740 Wagon. It has power locks. I can not open the rear door to the cargo space. Does anyob=ne have any suggestions?

Have you tried to climb to the back from withen the car??...there is a door opener handel there that you could try.

If the symptoms are that you pull on the handle and it does not trigger the latch, the problem is likely that you need to adjust the linkage a bit. I had this problem on my '86 740 wagon.

I can describe what I did on my '86 but do not know if it is different on a '90. You will need to open the rear door from the inside, then remove the inside door cover. The lock assembly comes out with two bolts. The linkage to the handle is simply a rod threaded into another rod. You will want to twist it to make it longer or shorter, whichever is appropriate. Test it before you put the door cover back on.

Hop this helps. It solved the problem for me. Lubricate the lock while you are in there.
