Hi there, I drive a 1990 760 Turbo Wagon. I have been thinking about trying some additives such as a transmission fluid treatment like Lucas and/or an engine oil treatment like Slick50.
Can anyone suggest products that I should be looking at, or more importantly NOT looking at.
Any advice would be muchly appreciated. Thanks!
Kris

Kris,
Adding additives to your transmission and engine CAN be a good thing. But on the same token, adding additives CAN be just a waiste of money. Additives are made to help prolong the life span of engine, transmission, turbo, etc. But do they all work and do all cars need them?. Answer to that is definitely a NO. So if you going to use additives, which is nothing wrong of doing so, use the popular brands. There are so many brands out there. Just stick with the popular brands and you are fine.
Regards,
Dave

Thanks for the advice Dave, I think if I'm going to use any additives, I'll just try a transmission treatment like Lucas, it seems to have good reviews, to stop a minor leak and hopefully smooth out the shifting a bit.
From my research, it seems that Slick50 oil treatment is little more than "snake oil". I am apprehensive anyway to use an oil treatement for fear of screwing up the turbo. So I think I'll just do an oil change and switch to a top grade synthetic oil.
Thanks again,
Kris
