knock sensors

Anyone know how serious a knock problem on a '93 940 may be? I had the engine serviced recently and the knock sensor cleaned but now the damn check engine light is on again after trying to accelerate rapidly. I read that maybe this can be solved with some better grade gasoline. Don't really want to pay to get it serviced again if it is only an octane problem.

My 850Turbo would ocassionally warn with code for knock sensor. I purchased a CodeReader to read and reset the error. I have not replaced either of the sensors because I do not feel that it is actually bad. The CheckEngine comes on during sudden acceleration. Some times it would go away by itself without resetting. My experience is to use higher octane gas and also to reopen/reclose the gas cap.

ok thanks for the info. Think I'll get the code reset and see if it happens again. I haven't noticed any performance changes so.
