Hello! I wonder what kind of advise you did get?
I have a friend who has a similar problem, he says the fan stalls when he drives the car, but not when he stands still, is this the same problem?

Mine had a vacuum leak somewhere. The dealer wanted $650 to tear out the dashboard and fix the "bellows" or "baffle"? I said forget it. Looked here and found advice. Under the driver's side dash, remove the plastic panel. Two screws and a couple of snaps. Look up near the gas pedal and you should see two hoses. One blue and one yellow. They connect to a round thing. A vacuum pump or something. (Like my technical terminology?!?!) Cut the yellow hose and plug both ends. This will restrict the air flow slightly to the floor vents but that's the only consequence. You know when you turn on the heater and the air normally comes out of the floor vents? Now it will come out of the floor vents and the defroster. Cost me thirteen cents for a piece of wire to plug the hose. Here's a web site with more detailed and professional information.
