Has anyone ever had a problem with their overdrive? When i bought the car i knew the button did not work, ill hit it and the shift up arrow will turn on and if I hit it again it will turn off. It concerned me when i was always running at high RPM'S on the highway. (roughly around 3700 at 65 mph). I get about 14 miles per gallon on avg. Is this a common problem, is it worth it to check the transmission to see if something disconnected? Easy fix? Big problem?
This site is great!!!
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated,
Kyle
Overdrive
Two common problems with the overdrive is the switch and the wiring under the centre console where it flexes each time the shifter is moved, Check the wiring for breaks in these areas before considering any major transmission work.
Good luck
