headlight problems

Post by richardl »

One of my daylight running lamps went out and after replacing it with a new bulb, the bulb is out of position (is higher up and brighter than the other headlight). I've tried repositioning it, moving it around, even getting a new one, to no avail. Anyone have an idea how to adjust the headlamp? Thanks for any help.

What model? On my '96 850 there is a bubble level with what looks like plastic gear crank that adjust the level of the housing. As far as the new bulb being brighter, that's normal. As lightbulbs age, they pick up dirt and film on the bulb surface that leads to a general dulling effect. As a rule, it's always a good idea to change both bulbs at once.
