i bought a used s80 with 26k and have been to the dealer more times than I think I should. The brakes and rotors were replaced at 50K. Recently, I spent $800 on a Throttle Body Control Unit. Last summer I replaced another unit which controlled the abs and stc units. Has anyone had similar problems. My first Volvo was a 940, had for 10 years, 187,000 miles and only replaced the water pump and timing belt along with normal mainteance. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Compared to 940s, S80s have 2x, 3x as many electronics in them... things are bound to go awry just because the chances of failure are increased.
Some S80s are fine, like my dad's, and some are money pits. Good luck with your Volvo, and if you can, check back here from time to time and let us know how things go with her.
