850 GLT wagon 1995

My rear brakes are squeeling. I have replaced the rotars and pads just this week. I did use after market pads....is this really the problem? Will the "squeel" go away as the mechanic states. HELP-the noise is ear piercing(more so than my 6-month-old's crying)!!!

I had squealing on my 95 850 GLT Wagon. It would only squeel at low speeds. During a specific range while I was depressing or lifting the brake lightly. Especially noticable when I was pulling into or out of our driveway. We live in a small neighborhood, and so I was practically announcing my presence every time I left or came home. which got kind of embarrasing.

I just put on Brembo rotors and 'Performance' Pads? (a ceramic type pad offered on Tirerack.com). The squeeling is very reduced now, but I'm still getting some very slight squealing. Hopefully this will go away as the pads seat to the rotor.

Here's a good How-To on brake shims (they reduce squealing) by our very own Tsquared.
