Won't Start on Sunny Day

I have a 2000 Cross Country, 78,000 miles. Car can take several tries before starting, and it seems this only occurs when it has sat in the sun for a few hours. Once it starts (anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes later), it has no problem running. Plus, it will always restart instantly if it has been running and only shut off briefly. The first time to the Volvo dealer, they could not determine (or duplicate) the problem. The second time, they still did not duplicate the problem but claimed I needed a new fuel pump. A week after getting the new fuel pump, the exact problem happened again. The car is back at the dealer. They did duplicate the problem once but did not have their diagnostic equipment hooked up to my car at that time. They have not been able to duplicate again so far. There are no codes. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
