radio code numbers

Where do you get the zero in a radio code? The faceplate on my radio has 1-6. My code has a zero. :(

There is no 0, you're correct. Also, there is no 'Enter.'
Codes are 4 digits, so you've got one too many. Try it without the 0.

63502 was the code on the radio decal from the factory overhaul. I tried 6352 and it did not work. What is the best plan for getting the code?

I believe the "EEEEE" display is what shows if there is an incorrect code entered. If you enter an incorrect code too many times, you have to wait a certain period of time before you can enter the code again. I believe it is 24 hrs.

I had a problem with my radio not being the factory installed unit but a replacement stock head unit. The dealer didn't have the correct code when they did a VIN# search, so I had to get the serial number off of the head unit and get the correct code for that unit. Needless to say, I make sure that I know that number now.

If your card has a "0" on it there it is not possible to reset the code. You need to take the card and visit your local Volvo dealership. Regardless if your car is in warranty or not Volvo has screwed up with the "0" in the code (unless they can demonstrate otherwise).

The dealer should provide a good code or pull your head unit and connect it to their reader/writer to reset the code on the radio. Do not let them charge you for this service as the code on your card is an invalid code (like I said earlier unless they can show you otherwise).

I had a code that did not work with my 850. I carried it back to the dealer and provided them my card and asked them to reset. They could not and wanted to charge me $75 to reset my radio. I objected to the charge as the dealer could not reset the radio using the factory provided code. They hooked it to a computer and rest the code and updated the master list at Volvo. The conceded the charge as they cold not reset it themselves.
