rare souns in the engine by 140 km/h with a V70 D5

hello there,

I was looking on the web for information about my dads car. What's the problem? Last year he bought a V70 D5 in holland and when he (or I ) drives the car up to 140 km/h the motor makes a rare sound. Just like the engine reached his top. Althoug, if we trap the volvo on his tale, the sound dissapears after reaching 160 km/h. Of course we think this is not normal. Common it is a volvo and this just can't be good. We thougt that the motor make this rare sound because it is an diesel, but after thinkin this is of course bullshit.

My question is, does any of you guys ever hurt of this? We tried the volvo dealer, but he says it's normal and we better not go faster than 120 km/h. (why do they make an engine that goed up to 210 km/h?? althoug crap)

Thank you already

Maurice Ubachs (age 19, holland)

I have an engineer friend who was born in Holland and we love his accent also. :)

Unfortunately, I don't think we here in the US know much about Volvo diesels. :(
