No power to in-tank fuel pump.

I'm not getting any power to the in-tank fuel pump when the key is turned on. Fuse #4 (labeled as for the in-tank pump) is also not getting energized.
What's the fix?

Probably should have mentioned the vehicle is an '86 240DL.

Update - Update

By removing the 3523608-2 (main relay?) located behind the passenger kick panel and jumping a wire across terminals 30 & 87/2 I get power to both the in-tank and main fuel pump. I've disconnected the fuel line at the engine and get a good flow of gasoline whilst jumping these terminals.
I'm thinking this proves the pumps are OK and the problem is with the relay. I've got a new relay ordered and it will arrive and be installed tomorow.
Anybody think I'm on the right track or am I just whistling Dixie?

TIA,
Lee M. Shall

Sounds like you are on the right track. I have a 1986 740 GLE. I spent quite a bit of time diagnosing my fuel injection system. The single fuel pump relay powers both pumps. Given what you have described, it sounds like a bad relay.

Do a topic search on fuel pumps and you can read about my fuel system woes and solutions.

On my sons 1981 240 the electrical terminal on the top of the fuel tank went bad and was not allowing electricty to the pre pump.
