Removal
Heat exchanger - left-hand drive
Remove:
- the heater hoses in the engine compartment. Use special pliers 1158957
- the seal and the plate.
Remove:
- the soundproofing panel according to Soundproofing panel.
- the stop lamp switch according to Brake light switch.
Remove:
- the tie strap for the pipes
- the screws for the heat exchanger
- the mounting brackets for the pipes.
- Position plenty of paper under the heat exchanger and around the pipes Drain the coolant into a suitable container.
- detach the pipes and position them out of the way
- Pull out the heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger - right-hand drive
Remove:
- he climate control system according to Climate control unit assembly
- the tie strap for the pipe
- the mounting brackets for the pipe
- the screws for the heat exchanger.
- Detach the pipes from the heat exchanger and drain off the coolant
- Remove the 3 screws from the fan housing on the central electrical unit
- Fold out the central electrical unit and remove it
- Pull out the heat exchanger from the central electrical unit.
Installation
Heat exchanger - left-hand drive
Note! Always use new O-rings
- Install the heat exchanger carefully
- Screw the heat exchanger into place
- Install the upper pipes
- Install the locking plate using round-nosed pliers
- Press in the pipes using a screwdriver. Press the catch using pliers
- Install the lower pipes
- Install the locking plate using round-nosed pliers
- Press in the pipe using a screwdriver. Press in the locking bracket using round-nosed pliers
- Install the tie strap for the pipes
- Install the seal and the plate
- Install the heating hoses in the engine compartment
- Start the engine and the heating system
- Fill the cooling system with coolant
- Check that the pipe connectors do not leak
- Install the soundproofing panel according to Soundproofing panel
Heat exchanger - right-hand drive
- Position the heat exchanger carefully in the central electrical unit. Check that the seals are ok.
- Screw the heat exchanger into place
- Install the seals for the central electrical unit on the fan housing. Screw the seals into place
- Position the pipe, NOTE! New 0-rings
- Hook the pipe into place
- Install the tie straps for the pipes
- Everything else is installed in reverse order.
