Re: Steps on how to install killswitch for 01 v70

I don't think you understand how cars get stolen nowadays. No one starts the engine any more, they just grab the car with a truck and pull it away to get stripped. Without a key, no one is defeating the immob on a 2001, its a good system. I can barely get mine started with a key. But what about the...

Re: Steps on how to install killswitch for 01 v70

I would like to use either use a rocker switch (as pictured) or a push button (as pictured). Id probably buy a factory volvo rocker switch to replace the blank on the lower part of the ECC (pictured). They are both 3 prong switches.

Re: Steps on how to install killswitch for 01 v70

What abscate said! If you're wanting this for security purposes, you'll want the switch to interrupt a ground, not one that carries power. The latter is more likely to burn, pit, corrode and otherwise die.I've not done it on a modern car, though, so I can't offer specifics just the theory. I do not...

Re: Steps on how to install killswitch for 01 v70

Do we dare ask for the back story? I rent an apt from govt housing/housing authority in Antlers OK on the outskirts. Normally these types in most citties have crime. Ive always left my car windows down during the summer. Ive never had an issue with someone trying to steal stuff from my car or our n...

Re: How to post on the MVS classifieds from my Android on GChrome?

Ok so i have an LG V20, using Chrome. Im not technologically stupid; im very good with tech. I went to the home page, clicked on menu tab (3 parallel lines), clicked on MVS, clicked on Volvo Classifieds, found all the listings. I cant find the button to click in order to make a listing on there. Ca...

12v electric socket ignition power cut, ignition wire

I have been trying to wrap my head around this one. I cant figure out where the 12v socket wiring goes after going from socket to fuse. Ive tried tracing it but to no avail. How would i cut all power (past the fuse) to the 12v? But i want an alternative to doing that. So with that in mind, does anyb...

Steps on how to install killswitch for 01 v70

Pretty straight forward question. How do i install a killswitch for my 01 v70? Please post pics if possible. Those technical wiring diagrams are confusing. If you have done it or have info, please help.

Re: 2nd row 12v wiring and cargo auxilary 12v install

It is said on a Volvo forum (from 2004) on another site that when the cargo 12v option is installed, its always on regardless of ignition key position. Anyone know if that is true? I have the optional 12V cargo outlet. It's always on regardless of key ignition. The front seat and 2nd row 12V outlet...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

The non-runners are the real deals - but you need the experience to figure out what is wrong and know what it needs to get going again from a non-running inspection - thats the art form. DIY is good therapy, keep one away from expensive shrinks, it works better then apples. To top it off you got so...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)

Screenshot for posterity: 2001-manual-s60.jpg I would avoid unless you really can't live without an NA, red, 2001 manual S60. It might be the only one... possibly maybe. The wheels look odd. That S60 is same as my v70. NA and came stock with those weird wheels. I refer to them as 'granny' wheels. I...
