Re: 1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning Topic is solved

FYI my '95 850 also has an OBD II port on it. It's located in front of the shifter below the change drawer that simply lifts off. You can buy a WiFi or Bluetooth OBD2 adapter to pull codes from your phone. I have an iPhone so bought the WiFi one and use the app "car scanner" which was free. The ada...

Re: 1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning Topic is solved

The jumper wire (flywire) with the plug that you insert into the port(s) is a known weak spot. I have repaired them before by shortening the flywire and soldering it back onto the contact plate below the button and I have also replaced the wire completely on another one. I think I used a standard c...

I lied, there are three. Two big ones at the bottom and one small green one on the side

What is the third wire for? Mine doesn't appear to connect to anything and has plenty of corrosion.

Re: 1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning Topic is solved

I pulled the OBD 1 unit out and it looks like the fly wire has already been shortened and or soldered to the "Bullet". When I was pulling the box I noticed there is a single green/red stripe wire at the front. It doesn't appear to be connected to anything. There was plenty of corrosion in the in the...

1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning Topic is solved

Hello MVS community. About 3 months ago I inherited a 1995 850 glt wagon 5spd NA. Needless to say I've got the bug! I'm having an issue with the obd1. The terminal lights up when I press the button and there is power (about 10v) to all the sockets. When I try to retrieve codes it does not work. My b...

Re: Sunroof leak

So no resolution to this? Mine leaks when the front of the car is slightly pitched downwards. And it leaks at the center of the glass, into the light assembly, directly onto my window switches. I'm planning on cleaning the gasket really well OD and what I can easily get of the ID. then smearing a th...

Installed and upgraded to a trip computer! 37 bucks off Ebay. Only wish I had bought new bulbs to replace everything in the cluster.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

Metal on metal for seconds, or even a minute, isnt damaging as long as the engine isnt loaded. Thats why you can show those trick videos of running an engine with an empty sump for a minute or two without damage. Oil gets pumped around the cams and splash lubes pretty quickly. Once you ask the engi...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

Personally I'm betting that if the Moly was such a game changer everyone would use it or recommend it. But either they don't or they do but it isn't a big deal. Engines often last much longer than the rest of the car either way if serviced. [/quote] I think I agree with you. The engine has gone this...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

Yikes Mass Pike is a mess tonight. 40 mph limit, heavy slush and freezing sleet. Not a match for my T5 and her four radial snow tires. No all season crap for me. STC is great, it starts flashing about 5 mph before I feel control slipping away, so I put another 5 mph of margin below that point, and ...
