Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
After intermittingly searching for about a year (the exhaust manifold on the S70 has a little crack, but it's not that loud/bad), I finally found the right exhaust manifold for my S70. Everywhere I looked (Dutch & German carparts stores), they told me this is the right manifold for my S70, but ...

1995 850 GLT wagon 5 spd N/A. 360,000 Charged up the battery, checked fluids and tire pressure. Went for a short cruise around town. Nice to drive her again after her winter slumber. Sadly it's time to sell. I'm in CONNECTICUT. Anyone interested?

Re: 1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning
FYI my '95 850 also has an OBD II port on it. It's located in front of the shifter below the change drawer that simply lifts off. You can buy a WiFi or Bluetooth OBD2 adapter to pull codes from your phone. I have an iPhone so bought the WiFi one and use the app "car scanner" which was fre...

Re: 1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning
The jumper wire (flywire) with the plug that you insert into the port(s) is a known weak spot. I have repaired them before by shortening the flywire and soldering it back onto the contact plate below the button and I have also replaced the wire completely on another one. I think I used a standard c...

Re: 1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning
I pulled the OBD 1 unit out and it looks like the fly wire has already been shortened and or soldered to the "Bullet". When I was pulling the box I noticed there is a single green/red stripe wire at the front. It doesn't appear to be connected to anything. There was plenty of corrosion in ...

1995 OBD 1 malfunctioning
Hello MVS community. About 3 months ago I inherited a 1995 850 glt wagon 5spd NA. Needless to say I've got the bug! I'm having an issue with the obd1. The terminal lights up when I press the button and there is power (about 10v) to all the sockets. When I try to retrieve codes it does not work. My b...

Re: Sunroof leak
So no resolution to this? Mine leaks when the front of the car is slightly pitched downwards. And it leaks at the center of the glass, into the light assembly, directly onto my window switches. I'm planning on cleaning the gasket really well OD and what I can easily get of the ID. then smearing a th...

Installed and upgraded to a trip computer! 37 bucks off Ebay. Only wish I had bought new bulbs to replace everything in the cluster.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
Metal on metal for seconds, or even a minute, isnt damaging as long as the engine isnt loaded. Thats why you can show those trick videos of running an engine with an empty sump for a minute or two without damage. Oil gets pumped around the cams and splash lubes pretty quickly. Once you ask the engi...
