We've owned various Volvo's over the years starting back to 1989 with a 245. My wife really has her mind set on buying another Volvo, specifically a V60 model. I'm leaning toward a 5 cyliinder, automatic, two wheel drive unit. What is the most reliable year and engine/transmission combo for these?

Thanks for the info. Do I assume that for my '96 that the mechanism is a non-two stage lock? Is the info shown in the referenced thread for the two stage lock the same for my vehicle? What is the proper procedure for removing the rear trim (not having attempted this before)?

I am starting to notice a creak/squeak/groan in the right front of the car ('96 850 GLT). Always when travelling over a rough surface. It has the sound of a rubber bushing or something similar. Could this possibly be a sway bar bushing or a control arm bushing? Maybe something related to the strut? ...
