Re: Cooling Fan - VIDA Question - 2001 V70

Thanks. ECT numbers are plausible when checked, thermostat is open for sure. Do you know the fan should cycle, or stay on when it's activated by VIDA?

Re: Cooling Fan - VIDA Question - 2001 V70

Temps (at least in OBD) is correct and is getting to 240+ at low speed/stopped when ambient is 80+. Unless there’s a separate sensor for the fan (like BMW). If I don’t shut the engine down, it’ll continue to increase. Fan also does not activate when A/C is running. Once I get rolling at 30MPH+ temps...

Cooling Fan - VIDA Question - 2001 V70

Recently I've noticed the temp will creep up past the middle of the gauge when the car is not moving and there is no sound from the cooling fan. Temps get very up there (240+ if I don’t shut the engine down) However, the fan responds when I activate it via VIDA. One weird thing that's happening is t...

Yeah it looks like the Orings are a real pain on the 960, you have drop the subframe to get the oil pan off. In my case I'll have to drop the pan for an oil feed return anyway. I fully expect that part to suck. Here's a topic for the +t build on turbobricks. http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread....

Re: new to me 1998 S90

Given the 10.7:1 compression of the S90's engine and whiteblocks general propensity to scorch exhaust valve, I run 91 (R+M/2) as much as I can. $800 seems high for the timing belt service belt on this motor, it's a very very simple setup and there's lots of room. totally different to the VVT whitebl...

Re: Who likes the 960

I bought a 97 960 for a song about a year ago and I like it. It's a nice cruiser with good interior and ergonomics. The interior puts me off some of the older RWD models. I'm working on adding a turbo to mine, I'm not a fan of the stock motor\transmission combo. For top end noise, first thing I'd lo...
