Re: Brought home an S70 race car
The suspension needs a refresh. The front Koni struts need rebuilt and the back has cut springs. The sway bar is stock and I just happened to have an IPD sway bar ready to go. I feel confident about doing the suspension work other than deciding what to use. The motor and transmission are bone stock ...

Re: Brought home an S70 race car
I am surprised that after people look at the photos, they suggest using it as a daily. No airbags, no climate control, windows do not roll down, no interior. One seat.

Brought home an S70 race car
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PXsTClSOTEDQloR-rxRSLtsdsEGwFqIh I am very unfamiliar with posting pictures. Apologies in advance. I’ve been lazily looking for a manual transmission (car or swap) on Facebook marketplace and found a very unique car. It was built for the 2019 Grassroots Chall...

Re: Significant differences between 1999 s70 glt vs. 2000 s70 glt se
The seller was kind enough to share the Product Identification Plate. The important parts match up except the codes are different for the “front suspension spring and strut code” A quick check of a few websites shows that the strut assemblies are interchangeable so I am guessing they might have used...

Significant differences between 1999 s70 glt vs. 2000 s70 glt se
I’m looking at a second s70 to use as a donor/Frankenstein.
Are there any big differences between a 99 glt and a 2000 glt se?

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Changed the fuel pump and filter yesterday and I can't believe how much better the car is running. One of those items has been bad for over a year. The pump started making noise this week that couldn't be drowned out with the radio at normal levels. The gas mileage is already higher than it's ever b...

PCV Glove Test: Passes at idle, makes a big balloon under load.
I’m getting ready to work on the car for a three day weekend (fingers crossed). Have a bad oil leak around the front of the engine. Timing belt is oil soaked, oil on cam cover. I believe I have everything I need to do cam seals, water pump, timing belt, tensioner. This morning I began wondering abou...

There’s not enough for me to be worth it. Besides, a few S70’s showed up at the scrap yard. That’s like free storage.

Parts to pull off a 98 non-turbo wagon for a 2000 S70 turbo Topic is solved
I am seriously considering purchasing a 1998 S 70 non-turbo station wagon for $400. “Believe to be blown head gasket but still runs.” Best case scenario, I get it running for my daughter. Worst case scenario, I scrap it and pull all the parts off of it I can. Definitely the tires and rims make it wo...

Re: Big project weekend. Need advice on best sequence
Turbo coolant lines.
I believe it to be the place of my slow leak. A lot of lines have been replaced in the last year so I’m hoping this will be the fix

Big project weekend. Need advice on best sequence
I’ve got a pile of boxes from various ipd sponsors waiting for Saturday morning and I’m praying I drive it to work on Tuesday. Any ideas on best sequence or tips would be gratefully appreciated. My list. Timing belt/water pump/tensioner Possible cam seal leak (I’m super busy right up to Memorial Day...

Trying to get cam seal part numbers
I’m trying to order front cam seals from IPD. They tell me to get the part numbers from a Volvo dealer based off my VIN so I get the right part. Maybe I am not asking them correctly because three of them said they would not do this for me. Is there another way to find this out or am I not supposed t...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
This week I’ve changed rear shocks and bump stops, front struts (complete swap), inner and outer tie rods all myself. Invested in some impact tools and bigger air compressor and that’s helped a lot. I was planning on doing timing belt/water pump next summer but my oil leak has gotten worse. Just pul...

Re: 2000 S70 Compression test question
Update: These things never go as planned. I ended up working alone. Got the RIP kit on. That was a real task. Had to remove the battery and tray, transmission dipstick, radiator hose, and move a transmission coolant line to get the lower pipe situated. So this involves draining coolant. The kit came...

2000 S70 Compression test question
I bought an S70 a year ago for 900.00 for my son and it became mine (long story). Found Robert’s Youtube videos the day I brought it home and by the end first week had made two trips to Pull-A-Part and replaced both front seats and lot of other interior parts. I’ve done 70% of the mechanical work an...
