2009 XC90 AWD 3.2 Parking Brake
My parking brake appears to be stuck. I am trying to replace the starter motor and need to be able to roll the car forward on some car ramps to get under the car. Am I missing something? I had the vehicle towed to my house and the tow truck driver had no problem backing the car into the spot (I noti...

Starter Motor 2009 XC90
Volvo dealer is saying my starter motor has failed and they want $1300 to replace. Why is it so much? I can get a new starter on Rock auto for $77-$130 and I found this video that makes it look pretty straight forward. Anything to watch out for?

Re: Sirius Magnetic Antenna Installation on XC90 Help
Hey! Forgot to follow up. I ended up switching my phone plan to an unlimited data plan and subscribing to Sirius XM through the app. For the connection from my phone to the radio, I am using an Amazon Echo Auto plugged into the Aux port and that actually works really well. Seemed to be the cleanest ...

Sirius Magnetic Antenna Installation on XC90 Help
I recently purchased a Sirius Onyx radio ( https://shop.siriusxm.com/onyx-plus-vehicle.html ) for my 2009 XC90 and I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to run the magnetic antenna. I originally was going to try and put in on the back of the roof on top of the brake light panel and then try to...

Re: 2009 XC90 Tranmission Service Urgent
I called him back and I'm having him do a drain and fill flush of the transmission fluid and then monitor it to see how it's performing. This mechanic shop only uses Volvo fluid so I know the right stuff will be put in. rp2005, what's the resolution, or non-resolution of this? Sorry completely forg...

Re: 2009 XC90 Tranmission Service Urgent
On the money! First step of taking ownership of a USED vehicle is to replace and restore ALL fluids to specification. Reports and records are just what they are. I called him back and I'm having him do a drain and fill flush of the transmission fluid and then monitor it to see how it's performing. ...

Re: 2009 XC90 Tranmission Service Urgent
One suggestion very early on, because the printout noted that the faults were “not active in the current drive cycle”, was to erase all the codes and see what came back. Was this ever done? Yeah the codes weren't showing when I took them to the second shop and they never saw them firing. My wife th...

Re: 2009 XC90 Tranmission Service Urgent
I was thinking the high temperature indication could be due to contact resistance in the electrical connectors. Resistance in the wiring would add to the PTC resistor/sensor giving an artificially high temperature reading. Together with the time of year (winter salt spray in the engine compartment ...

Re: 2009 XC90 Tranmission Service Urgent
I'm looking into some options of buying a rebuilt valve body online seeing prices in the $500s. Is this something I should stay away from? Seems like it might be a decent option if I can't find a place to rebuild one locally.
