Re: 850 Fog Light Wiring Connector
Thanks @Jaydiesel I found what I was looking for. https://www.240turbo.com/blackvinyl.html#2polemalevolvo https://www.240turbo.com/blackvinyl.html#pigtailmale @misha thanks, I've already gone ahead and ordered the switch, relays, and jumper. I was planning on installing these diode dynamics fog ligh...

Re: 850 Fog Light Wiring Connector
There is one on each side. @jeffsws That is what the connector looks like when it is plugged into it's dummy connector. Alright sounds like I have indeed found the proper connector and maybe it was just changed on later models. Does anyone know if I can get a matching male end to this connector or s...

850 Fog Light Wiring Connector
I am looking to add fog lights to my 96 850 GLT. Probably going to go with some diode dynamics SS3 fog pods (I'll have to figure out how to mount them so any advice there would also be appreciated). I am pretty sure my 850 is pre-wired for fog lights as it has unused connectors under the bumper wher...

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
Alright, here is a short clip I took about a week ago that the noise is pretty apparent in.

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
I think whatever the issue is it was definitely caused by the stuck open injector since it started immediately after that. Their diagnosis of the noise makes me at least very confident that it is not upper engine related. The only other thing that would make sense to me would be a slight hydrolock o...

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
Yesterday I took it to a local engine shop. I left the car so they could listen to the engine start cold and they diagnosed the issue as the piston hitting the cylinder wall. They said the only way to fix this would be a full rebuild and they don't rebuild these engines. They basically recommended t...

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
Got back some oil analysis results. Unfortunately I don't have any previous baseline results as this was my first test and was going to be the baseline until this issue happened. Fuel dilution doesn't look that bad but still a bit high. Oil seems to have retained it's viscosity pretty well too. I'm ...

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
I don't know why it took me this long to think of this but wouldn't a rod knock or lower engine noise manifest itself at the RPM frequency while a valve noise would be at RPM/2 for frequency? I am away from the car right now but I'm pretty sure that at idle the tick was closer to 500 bpm than 1000 b...

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
I don't think that starting it a couple times flooded with fuel would have caused carbon build up. Gasoline is actually a pretty good solvent for removing carbon. That's part of why port injected engines usually have cleaner intake valves. Also carbon build up has to be built up so it does not happe...

Re: Ticking and Smoking After Leaky Injector Install
Yes I am not using it at the moment but I have put about 400 miles on it since this happened and will be using it when I'm back. I don't think it's a coincidence as the noise appeared immediately after the faulty injector was installed and removed. I really think it's related to the fuel that was du...
