Re: Volvo tool kit?
Thanks Rob. The tools don't say Volvo but rather 'Felo', 'India' and 'No. 895'.

Volvo tool kit?
Hi all,
When I bought my '97 GLT wagon many moons ago, this tool kit was in the back. Nothing on it indicates it's a Volvo item but its cool nonetheless. The wrenches are metric and the screwdriver has torx attachments. Could it be a Volvo item?
Thanks

Re: Great mileage
instarx, when you ran with no a/c, were the windows down? If so, maybe that made the difference. Better aero with the windows up perhaps?

Re: Anybody tow with an 850
Agreed. I towed a 1500lb car, sitting on a 600lb trailer, on a 1500 mile round trip with nary a problem. The trailer had no trailer brakes so its just a matter of being very careful when braking. Otherwise, besides mileage dropping a bit, it really was pretty easy. And that was probably 120k miles a...

Re: Drive shaft stuck extended out after control arm replace
Thought I'd bring up this old post because I, too , had this problem on the rh side trying to replace the control arm. I cut the boot circlips and pulled the boot back to see why the joint wouldn't go back to together. It's an incredibly simply joint and it looked like I just had to wrestle it back ...

Re: 850 SE '95 trailer plug wiring
I bought the bulbs that have the wiring coming straight from the bulbs ie, brake and taillights. These wires, if I recall, then plug into some sort of adapter, which is used to plug into the trailer light plug. It really works well and it doesn't use the factory loom at all. I might have picked up t...

Re: 97 850 A arm problem, maybe axle problem
The axle assembly is only about a year old so the boot is still very pliable. I was able to pull the boot back and was amazed to see how simple the cv joint is. I'm used to balls in a cage type found on VWs. With the spring a bit compressed with compressors, I grabbed the hub assembly, still contain...

Lee, thanks for confirming my suspicions. I wasn't certain if it was possible to pull apart but I guess so now.
