Re: Thud when pressing accelerator

Nice family shot. I had my kids take a video of my mounts while pedal braking for me. I was able to see that my mount does not move nearly as much as yours did. I checked the lower torque rod too, and it seemed to be holding up even though close inspection appears to show some pretty cracked out rub...

Re: How the hell do I jack up this P2

I have trouble with this as well. I have very little space to work with as low as the front end is with the worn out springs. I place the crotch of the jack stand in line with the little arced protrusion on the lift point, or right by it. (in the triangular bracket with the lift point) I have to get...

Re: Thud when pressing accelerator

Yes, don't make a mess. Use a chunk of rubber. Drill a hole in it and secure it from falling out with a twistie tie or zip tie.

Re: Thud when pressing accelerator

In order to rule out engine block movement as the issue here's a cheesy idea. Eliminate all the play in the upper mount. My method would be to jam a piece of rubber or two in the space(s) between the rubber bushing and the mount. A utility knife and a hack job on the sole of an old flip flop or shoe...

Re: Thud when pressing accelerator

Read through this thread hoping to find out about the top mount play... I replaced my top mount because a mechanic said it was worn on my 2005 (old stock?). I checked, it the bonded rubber was cracked.....the replacement for it was, of course, the square mount, and yes, it has the play in it. I can ...

Re: Lower control arm and CV boot, should I bother?

You can slack the clamp, inject grease with a syringe, rotate the clamp at needed angle and re-tighten it. However they tend to stretch over time and need to be replaced. Have both my 2 and 3 y.o. Volvo and GKN axles spitting small amounts of grease, the clamps are fully tightened, can't do more. I...

Re: Lower control arm and CV boot, should I bother?

Thanks for the input, I have a lot of videos and learning to do. A while back I got cheap control arms on Amazon made by Bapmic. Just working up to the install. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075S6ZY2B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Did I make a mistake with that control arm? W...

Re: FS: HU 850, 803 and 650

I am interested in a new radio due to the terrible AM reception I get, and the cold weather problems which cause random switching of the source. I need to look in to all the specifics first though.

Re: Beauty red S60 R - a Denver local

Impressive! I love that. I didn't even know there was an S60R. My S60 2.5T is enough woman for me... but now I think perhaps I need to have a mid life crisis and dump her for younger faster model.
