I have only used cheap, Supertech DEXIII (they recently started call it simply "ATF" yes it is also Merc compatible) in all of my P80 cars, and never had any transmission problems. I highly doubt the issue is the fluid and see no reason to change that. Much more likely it is the milkshake...
