A few weeks ago I had National Tire & Battery in Lancaster Pa. replace 2 tires on my 2001 S40. Top of the line Michelin.
In about a week a rear suspension noise developed. I took the car back to NTB , explained the problem & suggested they check whether they had tightened the rear suspension camber ...

Re: 1995 850 basic/ lost all engine oil
Well the weather & my schedule has changed enough to get back to my 850. pulled the cam shaft gears off & there hanging loosely, on the end of the exhaust cam was that pesky little cam seal. mystery solved. or at least part of it.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how the engine developed enough ...

Re: 1995 850 basic/ lost all engine oil
Thanks for the tip about the pan side gasket. however I don't think that is the problem.
Let me tell you about today's chapter in the Saga of the missing slippery stuff. I did indeed put the car up on the ramps. I put a gallon of oil in the sump. Next I pulled off the timing belt cover & the ...

Re: 1995 850 basic/ lost all engine oil
As I said in the original submission, I checked behind the timing belt covers & it is dry. There was some oil under the valley cover
(over the spark plugs) but not much. My plan at this time is to add some oil, put the car up on ramps, start it up & watch the oil fly. Does anyone know a witch doctor ...

Re: 1995 850 basic/ lost all engine oil
I described my Volvo as basic, because it seemed the way other owners on your site used that designation for the non-turbo model,so I apologise for not having the correct information listed. Anyway Ive got no turbo,so no turbo oil lines! I guess its back up on the ole ramps, once more with feeling ...

Re: 1995 850 basic/ lost all engine oil
Sitting in the car it is the right side, or the timing belt end of the engine, behind the engine( between the engine & the firewall),
needless to say that with 5 quarts of oil saturating that corner of the engine, that whole side,(passenger side) of the car is soaked, the whole top of the frame rail ...

1995 850 basic/ lost all engine oil
Back again. You guys helped me in 2009 when I burned a valve. I rebuilt the engine cylinder head then,& the car has run great since then. About a month ago I checked the oil level , & it was full up. I drove the car about 4 miles, when the oil light lit.
Stopped the car immediately . Checked the oil ...

Re: 850 GLT automatic 1995 #3 cylinder /dead
tailor SAID:So , why not swap another injector with #3 injector and see if you repeat the problem of the dead cylinder. Clear all the codes first otherwise you will get kerfuffiled.
ddixon answers: I already did that. As far as Kerfuffiled goes, if its translation means anything like frahoodled ...

Re: 850 GLT automatic 1995 #3 cylinder /dead
OK! I checked the continuity on not only #3 injector but just about any combination of injectors that you can think of.
Results: ALL the grey wires have good continuity, none, absolutely none, of the of the Green wires have any continuity with any other green wire. Does this tell you anything? And ...
