I also took off just the ignition switch and tried the one I just got and nothing.. I've checked fuses under the hood.. What fuses and relays should I check?

I've done some research..but it's seems like the whole ignition system from top to bottom is made to have problems.. I was thinking maybe the lead wire for the starter? But where the hell is it even lol..

So I just did what you suggested and took the switch out with the key in then starting it with a flat head screwdriver and nothing. Same thing still is not cranking over.

The car had done this since I got it .. first time I replaced battery a it worked for a year.. then about 6 months it'd last.. now it's to the point where it doesn't want to crank over no matter how long it sits..or no matter what I do

The key turns all the way. When I go to start it the dash lights and everything come on like it's going to start.. then I click it to start and nothing doesn't turn over doesn't do anything..

Well I got a whole new ignition with a key from the junkyard. I was attempting to remove the whole thing. So yes I'm pretty sure it's the shearbolt's you mention.. (the two top bolts holding the ignition). But maybe I should just try removing the electric switch part and try replacing that..

First off trying to remove old ignition switch.. have all the Philips screws from the bottom.. but I've tried a bunch of bits and can't seem to figure out what are the two top bolts holding it on..
