Recently purchased a 1998 v70 2.4 turbo had cleanable air filter that did not fit properly. I tried a wix paper filter and it was also slightly small for the box. Is there a chance there was a change during model years or has anyone run into this issue?

Could on acceleration mean something flexing due to a worn mount?

Thanks abscate, the oil I found is a full synthetic which is normally 2.99 per quart but with the Menards rebate is 2.66 which is an exceptional price for full synthetic.

I see others have mentioned chrome paint. That’s also what I thought of. I think when I bought some a few years back, it was at a department store or auto parts store. Probably available online too.

Alright, here is another question. Does anyone know if API service SN-RC ILSAC GF-5 is suitable for the 1998 2.4L turbo? It does not match specs in the owners manual, but I suspect it’s changed in the last 20+ years.
