What engine is in your XC90? The first thing to check would be the transmission fluid level. Have there been any indications that anything was wrong before it lost reverse? Hey thanks for replying! Motor is the T6 Executive version. I assume the gearbox is the GM but can't see it from the open hood...

I have a 2000 Volvo V70 XC SE AWD and as of today she stopped moving in reverse.... Not sure if it is the pnp switch because reverse lights do come on. For a while now it's been a bit shuddery in reverse. Drive still acts perfect, it has all the get up and go it always has. No obd2 codes. Am I look...

My revrse gear does not engage. All other geears engage smoothly and quietly. Park is functional. Rear radar is functional and operates. Volvo dealer said I should replace the transmission.
