It's the small bushing at the rear of the control arm that goes bad (tears). For the axle, if it doesn't come out it's secure, but good to know it may not come out again if needed, if the clip was slightly larger (common problem) So I might not ever be able to get this axle out again? Is the axle a replacement ? Some had the wrong clip size. Try pulling on the inner CV joint cup just before that shaft, see if it comes out, otherwise it should be secured properly. Drivers side is the short one. These was a little clip on the axle that seemed a tad loose but I thought nothing of it and shoved it in. Seemed tight as I wasn't able to push it in or pull it out by pulling on it.

Just seems not fully in.

Hey, long time lurker first time poster. I just "fixed" my drivers side cv axle and I shoved it in as far as it will go as per the pic. The car pulls a little to the drivers side now and I'm not sure if the axle is al the way in. I've driven a few hundred km's since I installed it but am starting to...
