Re: 2010 S80 Hood Latch Release Cable Replacement

I was able to remove the cable from the hood latches. While removing it from the driver side (left side), I ended up breaking the plastic latch insert. The passenger side (right side) was removed from the latch without breaking the plastic latch insert. In summary vise grips with penetrant oil and y...

2010 S80 Hood Latch Release Cable Replacement

Has anyone replaced the hood latch release cable on a 2007 to 2015 S80/V70/XC70 or any P3 chassis? I cannot seem to be able to get the cable separated from the hood latches. I have the new cable and it seems straight forward but it just does not want come out of tje latches. I really do not want rep...

Re: 2009 XC70 Hood Release Cable Replacent Topic is solved

I have a 2010 S80 and need to change my hood latch release cable as well. The issue I am having is removing the cable from the two latches. Shouldn't the cable sheath just pull out of the plastic retainer and the medal knob lift right out of the slit? The cable sheath looks a bit rusty inside the pl...

Re: Removing A-Pillar Cover on 2009 S80

Here are images showing the gap. The A-pillar trim is too close to the black windshield glass edging. It should be set back a little to hide any gaps. Does anyone have a couple images showing proper fitting of the A-pillar trim? A-pillar trim driver side interior view installed https://live.staticfl...

Re: Removing A-Pillar Cover on 2009 S80

I will snap a picture in the morning for reference. My thought was brute force to see if I could get everything to snap in correctly. That didn't work. Crazy. I can wrench but interior trim work frustrates me. :)

Re: Removing A-Pillar Cover on 2009 S80

From the inside of the cabin, both the top (by the head) and bottom (by the dash), look correct. There is plenty of black glass edging showing. The issue appears to be the middle of the trim pieces. I pulled the driver side back out and inserted the bottom first, as you said. Above the bottom there ...

Re: Removing A-Pillar Cover on 2009 S80

For the P3 gently pull the air bag plate off with a small screwdriver or bone tool. Under that is a very long T30, I think, screw that must be removed. Then pull down the rubber door seal down to the dash and up beyond. Start at the top of the A pillar and pull away from the windshield from the top...
