Re: Liquid Moly engine flush? Volvo 850 1996

Old starters may need a wack every so often. A bad starter is more likely to just click and not engage as opposed to grind itself up. May have been the motor engaged but did not make contact with the flywheel. Had that happen to my V70 once, but it did not repeat the failure later.

I would just ...

Re: Head gasket replacement questions

I’m in the process of doing a head gasket repair on a 99 GLT and picked up the head from the machine shop today. The machinist said he had to grind .020” to get the surface flat. Is this excessive? It seems like a lot. I was expecting more like 3-5 thousands. I did see light under a straightedge ...

Re: NA RN Swap Questions & Answers

Hi Everyone,

So my previous wagon is currently sitting in a garage awaiting a used engine, some suspension, and little things to fix around the house. I've made a pretty big list of things to fix, but it wont be a daily and its a lot cheaper to fix this then it is to get a fast sunday car.

That ...

Re: my volvo 850se journal

Disconnect the end link on one side and tie it out of the way. Driving it 20 miles to get welded (not sure how successful that will be on the twisting of the bar, but hopefully!) will likely break it completely. Running with it disconnected is not ideal but not terrible for a short time.

Neil ...
