Re: I dont wanna damage my engine because of a wastegate!

What has convinced you that your wastegate is set inappropriately? What sort of “car runs poorly” symptoms are you having? What recent work has been done? If you have a boost gauge you can unplug your TCV and get a pretty good idea of what your wastegate setting is. It was completely removed from t...

I dont wanna damage my engine because of a wastegate!

Skippin all the unneeded details, my wastegate adjustment is not where it's supposed to be at all. And I think it's making my car run poorly. How do I go about adjusting it properly? (vehicle is 2006 s60r)

k24 oil feed line

Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a gasket between the oil feed line and the turbo? (area in question circled in yellow)

If so, could someone get by using just Aerobic sealant?

IPD Wastegate Tool Exist Anymore?

Does anyone know where I can find the wastegate adjustment tool? IPD doesn't seem to have it on their site and googling about it just yields a bunch of how to videos.

Re: I'm starting to think there's too much 'whoosh' and sucking noises

If I were you I'd ditch that filter. AFAIK your engine gets enough air from the stock filter/box. The sound, as you describe, is also annoying. I agree. As much as I love a good 'whoosh', these ones are just a tad excessive lol And i would get the old air box back if i could locate one. I live in t...

I'm starting to think there's too much 'whoosh' and sucking noises

Straight to the point. 2006 s60R 150k miles. Been a month or 2 since my fiasco with timing belt/water pump. But since then, the car has been driving great. Just one small concern. My s60r makes a lot of 'intake sucking' noise when i'm accelerating and very loud 'whoosh' noise upon letting off thrott...

Re: Is timing off??

If you didn’t loosen the hub(s) and/or sprockets from the cams when you replaced the belt then you should ignore all the talk about pre-loading the hubs. Just get all three sprockets on their marks and install the belt. Double check the marks after you’ve set the tensioner. the sprockets were remov...

Re: Is timing off??

In the P80 forum I wrote up the cam flank angle measurement for VVT for equipped cars. The CEL doesn’t set until the restart. One tooth will set the CEL, TWO TEETH disable the VVT AND set the CEL. ok I just read it. so basically there is room for marks to be slightly off as the vvt system has an ad...
