04 V70 occasional no crank
Hello- 2004 V70, 115K miles. About a month ago I was (out of town) and was driving here and there one day. Stopped at a place, and shut her off. Came out and car had dash lights, wipers, windows etc but would not crank. Just a click. Had it towed to a "european" specialist, said I needed a...

Re: P2 9452709 Alarm service required
So is it ok to just yank that fuse? Or is something going to become messed up if I drive it with no alarm fuse? D

Re: Alarm service required
I'm gonna try pulling that fuse. Hopefully the sunroof will still function. But if it doesn't, no big deal as Ive got a solid 5 months or so before sunroof weather returns anyway. Dave

Re: Alarm service required
Br0dy- Thanks for the reply. Currently the only issue I have is the message coming on at startup- alarm doesn't come on (or stay on). I like my sunroof, rather not disable it. Anything with the words "Volvo Dealer" in it sounds too expensive to me. I could see a visit to a dealer costing m...

P2 9452709 Alarm service required
04 V70, the alarm service thing comes on at start up. Not a big deal, but was hoping it was an easy reset kinda thing. Sounds like it's not so easy or cheap . I never use the alarm, can I just "clip the wires" on the siren (there's a siren?) on this old girl and get that message to stop? D...

Re: Power Steering Pump pulley
Wow! That's amazing. Would NEVER have thought a failure like that could happen. But, my V will be 19 years old in 2023, and plastics do break down. D

Re: P0014
Jones- yes full synthetic, castrol I think. I'm away from home for at least 3 more weeks. Guess I could hire out another oil change but that seems kinda dumb. I priced out camshaft sensors, not a lot of money, simple to switch out. Wondering if I should just drop $50 and try a new sensor. Could do t...

P0014
04 V70 2.4, recent oil change, just had the CEL P0014 come up. Im 500 miles from home with minimal tools, any suggestions? I think ive had this code on other Volvos I've owned and a fresh oil change often would "fix" it. Dave

Re: Power Steering Pump pulley
MDK- well it only whines when I'm actually turning the wheel. I heard that's the sign of a bad pump. I will look inside the resivour while it's running see if im getting bubbles. D
