Manual vs auto fuel economy
Hello people! I'm considering buying an 850 with a manual trans in hopes of getting better gas mileage. I have a VW Golf right now (which i'm not terribly happy with). I was forced to sell my lovely well equipped 850 GLT auto because of the dreadful fuel economy which was around 19-22 mpg combined. ...

Broken sunvisor bolts?
Hello, i have recently gotten around to doing that headliner replacement i was posting about before but now i am having a seriously annoying problem. It seems that the threads on the two bolts that are holding the sunvisor to the roof near the A-pillar are broken because nothing happens when i try t...

Headliner, spray paint or re-upholster?
Hello guys, i'm gonna have to fix the headliner in my 850 eventually and i'm thinking about whether i should just peel off the fabric, scrape off the foam or whatever it is and then spray paint it or if i should re-upholster it with new fabric? My temporary solution was to cut out the sagging bits a...

And roughly 33,000 left in Sweden. And 57,000 of the 200-series cars are left in Sweden even though they seem less common than 850'sBlackBart wrote: ↑27 Sep 2021, 14:02 717,000 850s made +/-

Harder to drift a FWD car? We know how you Finns like to rally cars!!! Neil. That might just be it lol. The RWD Volvos are extremely popular among youngsters over here and hence a lot of them are, well.. Ruined. That could be why nice ones are expensive. The 850 might become the next popular ...

Re: Is the 850 becoming a classic?
Who would've thought at the time that small-block Malibus and Fairlanes and Dusters would ever be valuable? They were the cars you didn't REALLY want, but fell into because you couldn't afford the big-block. I can see the basic 850 being valuable as an example of the Golden Age of Automobiles that ...

Re: Is the 850 becoming a classic?
The funny thing is though that there are almost twice as many 240's in sweden as there are 850's and they're still more valuable. Also the 940 is much more sought after than the 850 despite being the same age roughly speaking.

Is the 850 becoming a classic?
What do you guys think about this? Will the 850 ever become a cult classic like say the 240 or will it always be cheap? I do realize the T5-R and R-models have been expensive collectibles for a while but i wonder if the basic models will ever become valuable like the basic 240's are. It might differ...
