Re: Desperately seeking photos

I have a 1999 S80, currently fighting with a damn canbus issue for months now, but if i can solve it in reasonable budget i think i will going to do a LOT of work on the car and put it in my garage to keep it, it has only 130k miles in it. I will indeed make a lot of pictures, i think all the above ...

Re: ABS Terminating resistor / CANBUS issue

It's been a while but i was woefully behind with work.... So basically i have tear the car apart, cleaned and checked every single cable, connection, metered everything for the correct voltage, impedance, especially the CAN cables against each other and against ground and supply voltage and everythi...

Re: ABS Terminating resistor / CANBUS issue

Thanks Rick. Yes, key POSII and headlights on every time...Thanks for you tip, but it seems like i have an issue with ECU. I been finally able to hook it on vida while showing the non-start syptoms (i never had my laptop and dice with me when it won't start and removing the battery was cleared all m...

Re: ABS Terminating resistor / CANBUS issue

My issue is gone once i put a 120 ohm resistor between ABS connector pin 10 and 11 (CAN H and L wires), no more crazy signals and communicaion loss while ABS modul is not in the car. Unfortunately my intermittent no start issue is still on so it seems like unrelated to the faulty ABS module. Thanks ...

Fule pump signal missing, burnt slot on CEM

Hello, So i still have this intermittent start issue (crank but wont start only if remove battery cable for 30 sec, then fires straight up). Vida says CEM-3A01 Fuel pump signal missing, but the car was actually running while i took the screenshot, so it must be intermittent. I also noticed a brownis...

Re: 2004 - Lost key fob. Alarm armed.

Hi Ben! I am pretty sure your car have ISM right above the battery in the trunk, so your alarm would set off. Yes, the siren modul have a separate battery to be able to sound the alarm even when (or especially when) the battery is disconnected. It can be found in the right front wheel arc just behin...

Re: ABS Terminating resistor / CANBUS issue

Thanks Rick! Yes, CAN l and CAN H should have a combined resistance of 60 Ohm. Vida says that there is a built-in terminating resistor of 120 ohms in both ends of the network (one in the ETM and one in the ABS moudle) which bridge CAN H and CAN L to prevent electrical reflections and interference. S...

Re: Need help or tips on making decision v70 vs s80

I own a 99 S80, 2.4 non-turbo (indeed outside US), it's the 20 valve engine with 173 bhp which is absolutely enough for weight of the car. Consumption is also very acceptable comparing with the size of the car (9 liters on 100km). A family of 3 with dog and heavy amount of luggages can fit very comf...
