Thanks! Yep- just the painted metal part. It does have an inward lip all the way around but only the forward edge (C-shaped lip) wraps around the rubber gasket. There aren't any holes in the rubber gasket material so I don't see how there can be any fasteners holding it down- that's what leads me to...

Here's a photo. As you can see it's just the trim/molding piece that is missing. Previous owner had a shop replace the window but elected not to replace the trim due to expense at the time.
