Volvo 850 driver's airbag open circuit troubleshooting
Moderator note...warning Warning for all...do not use ohmmeter for checking airbag continuity. Current from an ohmmeter can fire the airbag. This is dangerous. Checking circuit continuity of car wiring with air bag disconnected as below is fine. The SRS light in our 1993 850 is always on. The B5 cod...

Re: Smoke from glove box. now AC fan wont work '93 850
I am the other, older guy working this issue with my son. There are no apparent burn or scorch marks on the ECC unit. The blower motor is not siezed. I would like to power it up outside the car but don't know which terminals to put power to. We haven't pulled codes but will do that tonight. Since th...

2003 V70 Wagon - ABS controller
Is any vendor rebuilding 2003 ABS controllers or is anyone selling an aftermarket option for replacement? A code scan by a Vovlo mechanic shows multiple faults on sensors and ABS controller circuits and best guess is the controller. We have been running the car since we owned it 6 months ago with th...

2003 V70 OBDII code P0502
Intermittent problem with the AntiSkid and ABS system. When active, car loses power and dash ABS and antiskid lights flash. Recorded a P0502 code - Vehicle Speed Sensor A Circuit Low Input.
Sounds like a bad speed sensor on one of the four wheels - Anyone know what Circuit A is?
thanks
Pat

Re: 2003 V70 ABS indicator and Anti Skid
Connectors and wires all look fine and right front sensor not dirty. This is happening every time the car is driven. Sometimes the antiskid activates and cuts power - sometimes when you need to accelerate like when pulling into traffic. The ABS and antiskid lights come on, but then everything self c...

Re: 2003 V70 ABS indicator and Anti Skid
This has started to happen only after driving in the rain. I wonder if a connector is getting wet or moisture is otherwise causing an issue?

2003 V70 ABS indicator and Anti Skid
Got a 2003 V70 with 115k miles. Car is new to me. Now getting some codes as follows, PLUS the ABS warning is on, PLUS the AntiSkid control is disabled according to the message center. Have two recurring codes: P0502 - Vehicle speed sensor A Circuit Low Input P0507 - Idle control system RPM too high....

Is the drivers door from a 94 850 the same as a 93 850, except for the trim strip width?

2003 V70 AC compressor crank seal
Crank seal on my 2003 V70 AC compressor is shot. Can I get just the seal and install or do I need to buy the whole compressor? Who sells them cheaper than Volvo dealer?
Thanks

2003 V70 Wagon E-brake woes
Just aquired a 2003 V70 wagon. Investigating why the ebrake wasn't holding very well found the drivers side ebrake assy completely missing! And the aluminum lug that is part of the spindle support is sheared off. Shoes and all hardware is missing. With this brake design I am guessing this is fairly ...
